I have a project going on in my basement where my tanks are located. They are changing my boiler. And theres oil smell in the whole basement. Does that affect my tanks at all? Theres a carbon reactor running in my tank

Might be a good idea to shut off the skimmer unless you have it connected to outside air supply?
Just a precaution to keep your fish from getting a headache. Generally, petroleum isn't that soluble but some of the light ends will go into solution.

i'd be covering everything while they're working as well just to avoid anything. Easy fix for peace of mind
