i thought I understood it but I guess I don't and I screwed up. What is the suggested height of the water in the display itself , how high should it be at the skimmers?
How high ( in relation to the 2nd basket ( where the water overflows into the return basket)
I added a ATO and wasn't sure where to put it. I ended up putting it in the 2nd basket and before I knew it the tank was a inch inch and 1/2 higher ( I'm also looking for less noise.)
So I tried to empty some from the main tank but the main got full and I screwed up.
Suggestion on how to lower the water in the main tank but keep it about a inch higher than the 2nd basket overflow. Hope I'm saying right
Thanks

I'm having a hard time following you, but the only place where the water level should vary is the center compartment in the back. Everywhere else it should stay constant. I put my censer about 1" lover than the water level in the second chamber, then the refill line can go wherever is convenient. I'll go take a picture for you...

Standby.

This was not an easy picture to take...

Blue light is the censor, in the center section.

Ok I did that but how can I make the main tank water level lower without losing the water level of the middle ( return section lower) when I try to take water from each section ( one at a time) generally the water level in the return goes lower (way low) should the water in the return section be very low or lower than the 2nd section? Inoriginally had both sections at the same height

With your skimmer start the bubbles off very low ( like at the very bottom of the collection cup) then just let it build up. A pic of your tank would be helpful.

Ok here's my pics what I'm wondering is at what level should the center (return) section be? Mine is very very low. I'm trying to get the main tank T about three inches below the top and the center return level with the 2nd basket

The return section should be the lowest section, but the height is not important as long as it is above your pumps and below the second chambers. There's no way to get your display water level down, unless maybe a an oversized return pump, but even then it can only go to the bottom of the overflows. No 3 inches.

Thanks I think I finally figured it out and silenced the dripping. I turned up the pump and that filled the return section higher. Then I took a sponge and placed it in front of the skimmer ( which is in my first overflow) and walla quiet with good water flow. Now all I need to do is set the ATO properly ( once a get a good container.
Thanks Doob
By the way how is the lights off going? Are things disappearing?

Well, they've stopped spreading, so that's good. I have a cleanup crew from reefcleaners that should ship out on Monday. Hopefully it clears up!

Good. I figured at lot of things out. I discovered that after many years I was able to better figure out programming by video rather than reading about it. Got the apex up and running very happy with that. Although I'm not to sure about my Tunze ATO but we'll see. Not quite ready for a CUC yet but getting there. I think the clowns in the QT are getting antsy LOL
