Good AM from Los Angeles, about 6 weeks in to cycling my tank and added 2 fish from old tank (clown and Goby) and have LR from old tank and some pieces from a cured source. This am I found these little white tubes on the glass in the DT and the acrylic of my sump. they literally look like a little thin white straw with a little foot attaching to glass. Not moving and not a little snail (have those also). THis is a pic but not that nice cause very tiny and I have no lights yet (getting a custom made rig for my AI Vegas)would appreciated to know if this is something concerning? none on the LR that I can see. THANKS Fellow Reefers!!!!

Really tough to tell from that pic.....any way you could get a better one?

So sorry that is likely the best pic as very tiny and no lights. Really looks just like a thin white straw sticking out of a base attached to glass. Grew literally overnight and none on the LR or sand. perhaps i can get a better pic later if some are growing again on sump acyrlic as can get closer up.

I would guess the same, soe nudi but again, hard to say for sure w/o a better pic

cool... hope it isnt a "bad" nudibrabch that will eat my corals (when I actually start adding LPS corals to tank... soon...) are there many "pest" nudibranchs?!

There are many pests in general.....unless you can get a definitive ID you never know....

That looks like some kind of a nudi, but its really hard to ID from that picture. I would suggest taking a better picture and getting it ID'd before adding corals.

I picked up some Zoa's from a reputable dealer and did the dip the coral procedure and all, however it had some zoa's nudibranches which really upset my other colonies. I did not notice at first however one day I found larvae on the stems of the zoas which made them close up. I had to pick them up with my wife's tweezers (don't tell her that) and it took about a month to get rid of all the nudis and the eggs they laid... (collected about 15 nudis, maybe more and 30+ eggs)

A few months later all my zoas have came back to life growing happily except one frag (which also happened to be the nicest looking frag). I think I'm going to try to give it a revive dip and look closely to see if there is anything else bugging it (have to be really patient and careful as these nudis take the color of the plant.. I did use a magnifying glass and I have good vision)

Also I know some are against FW dips, but in my experience, I found that the corals survive but all the pests dont do well in FW dips, especially flatworms and nudibranches along with other small critters. For dips, I use Two Little Fishies Revive and in all honesty, I cant say I'm sold on the product.

Also, I felt really bad killing all the nudibranches as they were actually extremely pretty looking and very interesting to watch :(

Is there a way to edit a post?

Thanks Everyone. Thanks Ginu I know what you mean about having to kill ANY lifeform. I am just not so sure they are nudibranchs by their lack of movement and only plastered to the glass or acrylic. I will try hard to get a pic of them. They dont even look like a nudi as really just look like a little signle white straw sticking out of a flat base. But ofcourse I could be very wrong....

Well based on the little wings, it looks like nudis, but its hard to make it out of that pic. Have you tried touching it? Does it move? Is it calcified or squishy?

I don't seem to have the option right after posting, so perhaps I'll look towards a supporting member :P
