pictures says it all... but I'm happy that I don't have to touch the main colony of 10 huge eyes again!!! I will go through with this painful but has to be done procedure for all the chalices I decide to keep... I always keep a "MaIN" colony and a grow out / back up frag... same goes with my z's and p's... it was at least a 30 mins back and forth decision whether I was going to frag or not... the saw was ready and my bro (Mabisyo) wanted to try out the Inland saw and get first hand experience on fragging... let's just say he got frag happy... he started with z's and p's and finished with the Orig ME... Thanks again to Mabisyo for fragging these... not bad at all for first time using the saw... ;)

well, it was more painful since the last time we fragged the Orig ME colony, I lost 6 out the 9 frags... this time the frags are all doing good... somehow, a few chalice frags made their way to my bro's tank already... LoLz... :)

I am looking to invest on a DSLR... ;)

Bandsaws are dangerous reefing tools...

...they'll turn all your nice colonies into frags :xd:

That looks like fun! Especially since you can cut it pretty nice.

He's not lying. Ian, How long did it take for me to fill up my shallow system with 500+ cuts  I'm still trying to empty that tank.

Is that all??? I thought it was going to be bad news like the first time.

Awesome cut job though. Bringing any of them to the Lansing swap?

That's the way we do it......most do not keep colonies anymore. You go back 2 years ago and Travis on RC, sold his colony of Pink Watermelon Chalice and where it broke off he had two frags. Now that the diamond ban saw is so cheap. Most cut with that and have very little die off.

Looks great.

thanks all... I forgot to say that the frag session was done on the 7th so most, if not all the frags have healed already... yay!!! :)

I don't mind keeping 5 mini colonies than one huge one... I've had too many heartbreak with my previous colonies... not chalices but I don't wanna take the chance... I never know what's ahead of me... the past 2 years, I've lost many nice z's and p's colonies from my tank move / downgrade / upgrade.... :(

my general rule with chalice in my 110g is about 2"-3" mini colonies... ;)
