I’ve been out of the reef hobby for over 20 years. Kids, work, and life took priority. I started watching BRS videos and decided to get back into the hobby and set up my tank that has been sitting for over 20 years. I’m glad to see the science has significantly improved. Unbelievable to see coral aquaculture and salt water fish breeding has come so far.

I’m thinking of starting the tank up slowly. I’ll cycle dead rock, and then use the Zeovit system with a refugium like on the BRS160. We’ll see how it goes. Wish me lucko_O

hey welcome, old hobbies seem to come back around and around and around.
I would like to make one suggestion.fill that 20 year old tank with fresh water and let it sit as long as you can.when silicone sits dry over time those seals dry rot and FAIL!i would hate to see you have a oh crap moment in the living room.tanks are fairly cheap these days so you may want to think about getting something new.ounce of prevention pound of cure kinda deal.no one likes to call the ins.company to explain that one.best of luck

Thank you all for the welcoming and well wishes. This is certainly the right place to be. :)
