Hello everyone,
Been lurking here for the past few months as I considered starting a reef tank! As for the thread title...I am actually in the large scale Marine Rercirculating Aquaculture Business as a designer/builder/operator. Never wanted to bring my work home with me when I was operating these facilities, so I always used that as an excuse when the wife asked about an aquarium...
. Now that I am focusing more on the design and construction and moved away from operations, that excuse is no longer valid and I do find myself also missing the fish/system care aspect!
So, lots of experience with the science/mechanics, but I'm definitely a noob when it comes to Reef keeping! I decided to go with a RedSea Max-E 260 (will probably add the optional sump after the first year I suspect, but starting simple) and will be setting the tank up this week! really looking forward to learning from the experts on here and hopefully having a successful tank.
Cheers!
