I have a reef octopus classic 90 HOB protein skimmer I've been running for about 3 months. After the break in it has been running perfectly, but recently it started filling up with nearly clear water from just bubbling all the way up. I tried having it completely open where the water level is as low as possible and also tried cleaning everything out. I haven't started dosing anything new to the tank either. I'm at a loss for what to do but as it is now this skimmer isn't doing much more than aerating the water.

Anyone have any suggestions of what could be wrong? I've only heard this being an issue on internal skimmers or new skimmers.

Chunk of salt in the venturi tube is pretty common reason for the water level rising (because the air volume has dropped).

There's a target height range for the water that the Skimmer goes in, are you within that range?

Or it could be the air tube is clogged.
