Hello All — Nice to meet everyone. I’ve been a long time reader of R2R but figure it’s time to join the community. First of all, it’s an awesome community and I’ve learned so much about this hobby just by reading everyone’s posts, some are very entertaining btw!

I’ve been in the hobby for 25+ years! Like many of you, I started out with freshwater -> FOWLR -> softies … and now SPS dominated. Obviously I still have a lot more to learn and that’s what makes this hobby very challenging and rewarding at the same time.

My two tanks
1. 150G Cube (36x36x24 + 20G sump)
2. 54G RedSea Reefer

Some old pics of the tanks.

My goal is to get to 100% SPS. Currently the cube is BB with 3 WAVs running at 70%. However, I’m still a big sucker for chalices so will likely have to move these guys to the RedSea 250.

Hello, welcome old timer to R2R!! :)

The Cube looks great.
Thanks — glad to be here!

I started with dry rocks and have not performed a water change in 18+ months…and not planning to do WCs going forward. Wish me luck! Ha

Aquascape & initial seed from my old 60G tank.

Welcome! Glad you joined. You'll fit right in with your background!

Have you considered starting your build thread? I found its a great place to document my tank's evolution for myself. I started tank first then joined, so I'm still finding myself going back collecting pictures & updating historically as well as current state. Once you create your first post in your thread and link it to your account, they will give you build badge (look left, under my ID)

This is a good reference book type online article I still review:
