Hello,

I have 2 bags of old Rotifers and active sphere reef food without an expiration date. It is similar to phytoplanktons. I believe they are from 2011. Is it safe to feed my corals and fish with this? Or will my phosphates spike up?

Zooplankton. Has it been in the freezer? If not, I would expect it to degrade over time and like a long misplaced McDonalds hamburger it looks ok after years in storage but I suspect it might taste funny at best. I would not expect it to spike your phosphates unless you over feed with it, but there will be some phosphate in the plankton.

Thanks for the replay Kris. It's not the frozen one. It's dry, powdery reef food. It's been kept in a storage container for 5+ years.
