Old school Apex setup and tips

Hello! I snagged this Apex and AI prime off Facebook for $100. Mainly bought it for the Prime but I will still use the apex. It’s one of the older models. I plan on using it for pH, Temp, and general monitoring. Any tips on how to use this? I’m going to add a wifi adapter to it because my fish room doesn’t have an Ethernet connection.

Best tip:
Forget the wifi, run a long Ethernet cable to it. The older apex's don't play well with wifi, and I believe any of the older dongles that actually worked, are no longer made.

Factory reset the unit before trying anything with it.

That finnex heater is worth what you payed for the entire setup!

I've had the same finnex heater in use, and working perfectly for the last 8 years. Only replaced the last finnex because it was old. About time to replace the current 8 years old one.

Best heater on the market IMO.
