Old spice soap in tank

Kid put shampoo in a tank that was just setup nothing but water, rock and sand in it. What can be done to clean it out? Is the rock and sand garbage?

Spicy tank! I would remove everything and rinse very well, run lots of carbon and then after a good few rinses and carbon start the cycle.

As long as you rinse everything well, it should be ok, to use again in the future. Just make sure you rinse everything nice and thorough before putting it back in and re-filling the tank.

Looks like the kid just found himself a job rinsing the sand and rocks with copious amounts of tapwater, outside.
