OLD T5 bulbs and Cyano?

There is a change in the spectrum with time. At a minimum you should be changing them yearly. I originally had t5's...the yearly bulb change is what drove me to LED's......couldn't be happier.
 
Yes, the output (PAR) can become weaker and the spectrum can shift (This could shift towards colors that algae likes and away from colors corals like). Lower light combined with light that is colored to favor algae can cause an algae party.

LEDs made me go back to T5s ;)
