Old tank to new tank

If I currently have a 29 gallon (11 year old) tank. I want to essentially use it as the sump to setup a larger frag tank. With that being said it is my current frag tank for my sps corals which is running out of room fast quick and in a hurry. Would there be any negative ramifications, cycling issues, etc? That I would need to be weary of

For a frag tank . An insta tank shouldn't be an issue.The parameters will never be better than day one. Since your not going for biodiversity as with a reef tank. A couple small pieces of seasoned rock with new water should be ok as well.
