Older MP40w settings?…

I bought a couple of older Mp40w’s for my 180. I have been letting them run on the previous owners settings. Today I changed the mode to “reef crest” and one of them fell off the tank. ! They seem to be in good condition. Has anyone had this happen? I have them set at like one over half way for max power. Also is the reef crest mode good to use? And are they synced? Idk. This is all new to me! Any help is much appreciated. Tia!

I had something similar happen once to me where the entire wet side assembly spun around. I took it off, scraped the glass to make sure nothing was between the glass and the wetside. Also made sure that the wet and dry sides were well aligned.

Thanks for the reply. Yea I put everything back and turned the power down one peg. made sure they were aligned and it was fine overnight. Hopefully just a fluke.

You may already know this but they come with a spacer for thinner glass that goes on the dry side. If there is one you can remove it to the increase holding strength.
