I have a 120 in my basement that has sat dry for 7-8 years. Tank in total is probably 10 years old. Should I have any concern for silicone failure? I didn't take any special precautions when I shut the tank down aside from rinsing it out. It has been stored in my parents basement until recently.

Whats everyone's thoughts on this?

Test fill it (preferably outside) and see. Silicone should not have degraded appreciably in that time.

I think that it's so easy to reseal the inside of the tank that i'd cut out the old inside seal and re-silicone it myself.

Resealing it isn't a bad thought. I've done it to smaller tanks just not anything over 50 gallons.
