Hi everyone!
The past year or so I took over an old 200-gal tank, by old, I mean it is probably 10 years old now. We have a yellow tang in there that we have had for around 18 years (prior to the current tank we had a smaller one then upgraded) I did a bunch of modifications for water changes to become way easier and am getting the ability to actually grow coral!
However, my question is regarding maintenance and ideas on where I should take the tank from here. With this being an older tank, are there things I should do to "bring it up" to par rather than just water changes + adding calcium/magnesium/alk to desired levels? I have added more copepods, snails, fish, etc. but I am curious about any ideas on work that would bring more quality out of the tank.
I have seen things such as different additives that are used to add bacteria to tanks, but I cannot identify if it is actually "useful" or just trying to sell the product.
Any tips/advice would be amazing!
