Not a fish but I got a 3 year old Blood Shrimp.

I have a madarin that's around 8 and a indigo dottyback that was bought not long after ora started releasing them, so it has to 6-7 (was one of a breeding pair where the male got worn out after 3 or so years). My next oldest is a 5 year old marine betta that I hope to have for the next couple of decades.
Away from salty water I have quite a few 20 yr plus tropicals like synodontis, Dora, clown loaches etc
Mandarin that is 8? What is your secret?
Thank you! Mine is doing well taking Copepods and Mysis. He has a lot of Live rock to hunt in and seems very happy so I hope he stays for a long time!Completely ignoring it tbh. I don't try to feed it, unless it comes to the top when the pumps are off and it sits there munching as many lobster eggs as I can give it. I would say the key is in the refugiums I have which are equal in volume to the display and the fact I follow the Paul b philosophy of allowing nature and natural processes to happen (ie embracing a little crud and plenty of critters). This natural food and hunting grounds means it always looks fat.
I also think going for a less impressive one to start with helps. I had no choice with mine as it was a rescue but people who pick the biggest males are mad. With a small male or female you have more time to get them feeding and need less natural food until they grow up. Get a massive one to begin with and you might see it starve before you can get it feeding.
He sounds more like Trooper, than King! lol. That's one tough fish!My Sailfin Tang (King). I've had him since 2006. He's been thru h*ll and back with several moves around town, a tank that split in the middle of the night, parasites, infections, power outages, tank mates, the whole nine.
I'm happy to say he'll never move again. He's pretty glad to be in a 240 gallon 8 footer and it's 100% parasite-free. Thank you, Humblefish. [emoji225]
