hi,

anyone had succes playing with the Olyumpus viewer for pictures taken in RAW ?
i'm not able to achieve a good result with it.

are there other freeware outthere that can be used to modify ORF format file ?

What don't you like?
one thing a lot of folks do is to expect the raw file can be extremely manipulated. its not that true. the best image capture possible is the first best thing to do.

the nikon viewer is kinda the same, klunky.

honestly I use lightroom on the monthly subscription.
 
i feel i'm loosing a lot of resolution on my modfied picture. i don't gain anything.
i have better picture by playing with my light spectrum and white balance.

so your losing resolution on export to jpeg or just what your seeing in the viewer.
 
both, in the viewer it looks crapy... once i save... it'S still crapy.

i went throught ome post in the photo section to see how to increase contrast coloration,etc. but it'S not photoshop

its the original image in the viewer ok? once extreme manipulation of an image is done it really affects overall quality.

do you have the same trouble with pictures correctly exposed, like outside stuff? look good in camera and bad on the viewer?
