OMG what is this unholy thing?

Last night, just before I went to bed, I looked in my tank, as I do. I was looking to make sure the cleaner shrimp was doing ok. He has set up shop on a cliff in the back, so I kinda have to peer around the side to see him.

Anyway, while doing so, I saw my female clown plucking something off the ground, looked like she was trying to eat it, but it was too big for her. I grabbed my tank tweezers and grabbed it.

What is this horror-inducing thing???

That was the best pic I could get, top to bottom, it was slightly smaller than a dime.

Somewhat firm, like a worm or slug of some sort.

It's went to the great sewer system in the sky.

Hmm, possible. I've got a good amount of crabs, I'll keep an eye out and see if I see any with different shells.
