OMG What's that? it's that killed my fish??

Hi everyone!I kept this BANGAI CARDINAL almost 3 months and last day saw him alive is yesterday morning and found him die yesterday night only with the sckskeleton and something long line worms eating him. Actually sometime i saw that ugly worms come out from inside the live rocks, but just doesn't thinks it would like that happening. Even i have clown fish, yellow tang, six line, fire fish but in these 3months all getting well.
I just want to know it would be the worms killed the fish? Or just eaten after he died.but without this i don't know how he died?just that that morning he is very fine.
Second what is that worms? Good things or bad things? Need to kill it?
Please help me thanks!

Holy heck I have NEVER seen that before. I would not think they killed it but rather are cleaning up. Definitely tagging along to see what others say

That is crazy. I'm interested in an answer as well. Looks like they are coming from one thing. And pulling it in almost, but can't see where it's origin is.

+1 on Spaghetti worm. Its definitely scavenging. Maybe that torch did him in.

I agree on spaghetti worm. To often do scavengers get blamed for the deaths but they are just cleaning up the mess.
