I have a small rock mostly covered in GSP, I had it up high in my tank on some LR, and now I want to put it on the sand bed (I have a12 gal). On the underside of the rock is a little purple feather duster I got with the rock. If I put it in the sand, it will not be able to open.

Can the featherduster move itself?

Yup. If you like the duster. Maybe turn the rock. The gsp will grow up an over if it's a healthy colony. And yes the gsp on the bottom will die off. But you've doubled the surface it can grow on.
Seems counter intuitive but I've wrestled with the question before too. And yea I like cool worms more than gsp

Well, I ended up proping the rock up on the sand bed so the featherduster can extend. I have red mushrooms growing on the otherside.

thanks for the response, and funny I just got some pulsing xenia, I can't help it, I love them. :D I put them on the sand bed too.
