On-Off wear and tear

Is there considerably more wear and tear on a pump going from 0%-50% as opposed to 20%-50%? I've got a tunze 6105 that I'd like to use to get a wave motion going and I'm worried that having it basically go on and off every few seconds will wear it out faster. Is that a legitimate worry or am I being paranoid?

Nothing to worry about. The pump is not going on and off, its varying its DC voltage to ramp up and down the motor. There is no stop and go.
I swing min from 30's to 80's for years and they have never had an issue.

I wasn't so much worried about going from 30-80 but more 0-80%. At 0% I assumed it would essentially be off.
