A little off topic . Actually not even reef related

what’s the best charcoal ?
I have found kingsford to be the best for me .
Partially because it has ford in the name . I trust it will burn hot and easy to light

Nothing beats the taste from charcoal .
I have charcoal on one side and propane in the other
With a smoker in the middle below .
You’re right about that but the ease of lighting the griddle and cooking while my three impatient daughters are bugging us for food is the way to go haha. And re jet the Blackstone to hook to my natural gas line.

I was always a fan of the original kingsford, just stay away from the matchlite stuff or anything with lighter fluid already on the charcoal in the bag unless you prefer your food tasting like it. A chimney starter is a must have for any charcoal grill! I bought a pit boss pellet grill with attached lp flat top from walmart and have hated it since. Ash doesn’t drop into the ash pan and the fire ends up burning back up the auger and smoke starts pouring out the pellet hopper. I don’t want to disassemble the grill every time I want to use it. Now I have my eye on a masterbuilt gravity fed charcoal grill, going to be doing a ton of research on reviews before pulling the trigger. 99% of the paid youtube reviews all gave the put boss top marks, but once you dive into forums I found the particular model I bought has been an absolute nightmare for most of those who purchased it.
