Removed the gyre powerheads as they were overpowered for my needs. Could only run at 10%. Replaced with 4x ReefBreeder RP-M. All on pulse, not synced, variable rates and patterns to just be chaotic. Allowed me to give similar amount of flow, just spread out a bit more. Everything seems to be liking it so far!

How’s that bta when it touches the palys/zoas?
how’s the clam doing!? good thinking by placing it inside the small container with sand. Huge mistake of mine by not isolating it, long story short my blue tang kept knocking it over and it eventually died

Keeping the Monti and those palys at bay! All part of the plan. They grow like weeds. Clam, eeeeeh, not so hot, but still reactive to light and flow with no gaping. I had some type of flatworm (red planaria or aceola) Added a yellow corris, sixline, and a bullseye dragonette. They handled the flatworms but I believe the yellow corris was picking them off the clam and upset the mantle. Keeping an eye on it lately and hoping for a recovery. Worst case, as long as remains healthy, I have a buddy that’s going to take it off my hands to try and revive it. I just don’t want to give him flatworms or a ticking time bomb should it go south.

Well don’t beat yourself up too much, they’re very difficult to keep, especially the maximas

Thanks! Everything else is doing great. Even the Green Gorgonia. I’ve quit panicking and doing fast changes to adapt for one coral. It’s truly survival of the fittest in my tank.

A few before the weekend. Tested yesterday and Alk was down to 6.2 with the Hanna tester. Confirmed with Salifert at 6.2. Adjusted alk dose and follow up testing tomorrow. Things are going well though.

Some beautiful pieces picked up at the Joe Knows Reefs Live Sale. Also snagged the grand prize of an MP40, frag pack (pending), and a 6 month supply of Food for the tank. Oh, and my Duncan I was gonna cut, but then nowhere to clean cut it without Dremel or saw, so just put it where it came from. Lol.
