I have a 150 gyre on my 59" long tank. Reefer 525. Make great flow. I have ice cap controller with it and ramp from 25-50 %. My problem is even at that setting my sand bottom on far side gets pushed around a little too much. Second problem is that it seems that all the flow at the bottom is in one direction. Is there any problem with using another gyre and ice cap on the other side? I know I need another ice cap. My other question is can I just use a gyre 130 on that other side as the 150 is way too much already?

Any other suggestions with just one gyre. Worried about alternating mode cause of sand.

I have a gyre 150 on one side and a 130 on the other side in my 75gl. I can only run the 150 at 30% and on the other side the 130 is at 70%. At first they blew sand around but as the tank got older they don't any longer. I don't use a controller, I use the build in timer to alternate every two minutes when they are on BUT the self timers aren't very accurate and throughout the day the are on at the same time and off at the same time but have had no issues.

How's the sway?

As far as what? The top of the aquarium water? I don't have any.
