What could cause one head of a purple tip hammer to change? I don't have a good picture of it in my phone I'll have to take another when I get home. Everything else in the tank is extremely happy and this one seems to be happy too, just one head is a little lighter in color than the other.

Salinity 1.025
KH 9.1
Cal 410
Phos 0.08
Nitrate 15
Mag 1400

Light. What lights is this guy under? Also IMO phosphates are a little low for Euphyillia but nothing to e worried about. You said "one head is a little lighter in color than the other" Which usually means it is bleaching, which is caused by lack of nutrients and/or too much or not enough light.

Ha of everything I forgot to mention it was lights! Everything is under SB Reef Lights.

Which head is lighter? The one that is getting more light or the one that is getting less light. Also what flow is through the tank. If they are both getting the same amount of flow then we can rule that out.

Here's some pictures I do have but I have a crappy android camera phone and don't have any gel filters yet.

The one on the right or closer to the front of the tank is the lighter one if you can tell from the picture. Flow is the same. A Sicce 550 gph on the side closest to the pictures or the left side of the tank and a Sicce 330 gph on the right side. Both are on timings to vary the flow.

Hmm. Everything looks okay to me. Lets se if #reefsquad has anything else. Also, is that a torch in the center?

I don't have an answer to your question but I have a splattered hammer that started getting blue polyps. IDK y

Checked again last night when I got home and both heads now have the nice dark purple again. Very interesting.
