One month in my marine tank

I have a Red Sea nano max. It’s a 20 gallon tank. When I first got it. I had a friend who already has a mature tank and used his water. Along one of his rock but the rock hasn’t been through cycling yet. After 2 weeks with the water in and the rock. I added two clown fish with 2 zoas. After that by 2 weeks I was told it was safe to add Lps corals. So I bought a lot of them. After that my two weeks brown algae started growing in my tank. I’m using vibrant now and dosed 2 ml. Waiting for the results. Oh and I have an anemone and it’s the first time I see its close. Not as bubbly too. I also added 1 loan more 3 snails, 2 star fish, 3 sexy shrimps, and 1 sea urchin. I don’t think my Zoas or anemone are happy

Hi tea,
You are my 1st welcome, I joined yesterday. And you will probably remain my distance record.
Rocks need some algae. Your tank has chosen. We like to promote coralline alge, that pink and purple stuff covering rocks in more mature tanks. Your friend might provide some scrapings, or get coralline alge in a bottle which contains spores.
For healthy corals your water needs some aeration like air bubbles thru a stone or, preferably a protien skimmer, which also exports bad stuff out of the water.
The vibrant contains some bacteria, but I'm not sure if it is the 'quick cycling' type which helps get nitrogen cycle more quickly established.
To buy yourself some time do water changes if your ammonia, nitrate or nitrites get out of control.
Talk to your friend, he should be able to help.
Luckily, those corals are pretty forgiving if the water is reasonable, but to know that you must test. Eventually, when the water stabilizes, the corals will start to grow, using the fish poop and minerals in the water. Then you'll have to decide how to replenish the minerals, either by water changes or supplementation.
Be happy, your tank is growing algae indicating we just need to get it to grow the desired kind.

Your tank looks great. If you don't mind some suggestions, I'll put a couple out there... First is that patience will be your best friend. Now that you have so much going on, you should probably take a breather and see how everything plays out.

Secondly, since you have so much going on, you will get faster responses to any questions if you find the forums that deal with each issue and start a thread there. It might even be better to use the search function at the top right to look for threads already dealing with certain information.

Finally, with the nice corals and other livestock you have, a whole tank photo would be something I'd like to see!

Welcome to R2R. Nice looking pictures. It seems that each time you reach a milestone you add a lot to your tank. Safer to take things slowly in this hobby. Lots of knowledgable and helpful people here who will support and advise you when needed.
