I went to one of my local pet stores that I’ve never bought from. I ask them about their salinity etc, and the owner had no clue what his water tested at! He went on to state it had been a long time since it was tested. Should i buy from them?

I would be very skeptical Sometimes the lfs may have people working there that have little knowledge. And only one or two people who actually take care of the livestock and parameters.

Ok thanks. Yes it worried me because it was the owner. You would figure they of all people would know. But being new I wasn’t for sure if this was normal or not. Lord knows i check mine way to much id say. Lol

I can understand not knowing every once in a while as an owner. How many owners get a morning status report from a manager on a daily basis? (Seriously. I have no idea) The red flag for me would be an owner who says "dunno" and leaves it at that. If it were me I would say "I haven't checked it today, but I'll find out for you." One answer is from someone who doesn't care. The other is from someone who does.
