one part?

OK so I'm a dosing dummy. long story short, I have always used a ca reactor in the past, but I currently don't have one. one of my tanks is sps dom and I'm going to need to dose because kalk isn't keeping up. the issue (or non issue?) is that my ca seems to be stable around 400ppm. it seems as if I only need to dose alk, but I always read about people dosing two part and at a 1:1 ratio. is it OK to just dose one part?

Maybe for a short while with monitoring but you will eventually need to dose for calcium as well. Kalk not keeping up with alk? What is your Magnesium ?

I use the Red Sea a, b, c, liquid foundation at moment. I dose accordingly with each reading I need to raise. I also log every dose so know what's being used. A=calc b=alk c=mag.

If you dose a two part, the calcium will stay where it is. If you dose just the alk part long term, you'll likely find calcium declines and will probably have to add the same amount back in the end. lol

Alkalinity responds first and far faster to over or under dosing of a two part, even when demand is exactly equal as expected, because seawater has a huge reservoir of calcium and not alkalinity.
