Im planning on setting up a larger drilled reef tank and wanting two returns on each side of the tank, is it possible to have one return pump and T off the return lines?

Yep. People do it all the time, especially with external overflows. One thought if the lines off the T are not even is to put ball valves on each side to regulate and equal return flow into the tank. I'm am doing same thing now in my new build.

If you have the space, I would use two DC return pumps with each set at < 50%. They will fail eventually (or they will need to be serviced), & this provides redundancy for your other life support equipment in the sump. Our left pump runs at 35% as it has a further distance to travel & the right at 30%. If we take one offline, we turn the other up to compensate.
