in my 100g i current have 2 mp40s opposing each other going through various flow patterns. this is fine except the big mp40 motor on one side of the glass. the way the tank is, the front and one side are very visible, the other side is not.

i am thinking is it possible to get varied decent flow if i put both mp40s on the "hidden" side and if so what kind of programming should i do (either via reeflink or apex wxm)

or put both on one side and add an icecap 3k, i've never used the gyre but for ~150 would give it a shot if the above option isnt good. i can not put any ecotech pump on the back wall due to the coast to coast overflow.

pic for reference.

want open up the left side of the tank from having the mp40 smack in the middle

I had this same setup. I took one off and put one on the back wall and bam. It’s more hidden, the flow is insane, I have three side of the tank to view from. It’s a win win!

I have a false wall with water behind the whole thing so I can’t wait use the eco techs that way.

you have the means to try it, so just do it. stagger them on the one side and run them opposite. try it and see what happens.

+1

Put both on one side and run one for 10sec while the other is off, then switch.

You should see a nice push n pull, clockwise then counterclockwise flow...much like waves coming in and pulling out

I might try that myself
