I’m deciding on what fish should I get for my mixed reef - Red Sea Reefer 350. I like both Foxface and Coral Beauty. I’m still deciding if I want to get both though. Been doing a lot of reading and I’m aware there is a chance that one of them will be nipping on my LPS and softies. I was told they are both pretty easy to keep. Any advise from my fellow more experienced reefers? Thanks!

save me from looking up on how many gallons a Red Sea 350 is. how many?
the fox face will grow fast. mines gone from1.25" to over 5" in just over a year.
no issues with it bothering coral aside from irritating them if it's picking algae off the plug.

both are great options. foxface is more safe in terms of coral picking and other fish. i have never heard/read about them bullying new fish but they have spines that can hurt you and they are hit-or-miss when it comes to algae eating. last part is from my personal experience. my lo foxface doesn't eat much of nori or algae sheets but chomps down all hikari seaweed extreme pallets before they are released by my fingers.
last thing about foxfaces- they are sissies. mine turn black while feeding for no apparent reason and hide under rockwork. and just like that comes out and continue eating. if any fish flashes in the tank he is the first one to hide.
my coral beauty is in QT. i have my fingers, toes and balls crossed. hope fully it won't go after my lps. its a wild caught.
deep water according to my lfs. supposedly they dont have an appetite for corals.

Our one spot Foxface doesn’t care about our coral and is a model citizen. It’s easy. Ours eats like a pig and really likes the Hikari frozen brine/spirulina shrimp and the Ocean Nutrition Formula Two green algae flakes. Haven’t seen it touch the nori strips. We also would like to add a coral beauty and have heard that if you get them when they’re small that they won’t bother the coral, but idk how much truth there is to that and whether or not it’s worth the risk.

I have a onespot fox that’s a convicted acan murderer. It gets along with my flame angel though.

Interesting. Every fish is different. How is your flame angel with your coral? That’s another one on our fish-wish list, although we know there’s a good chance with the flame.

They get along great. I’ve never witnessed any aggression from either in the 2 plus years I’ve had them.
