One Spot Foxface experiences come on in!

So I'm at the point with my 90 gallon reef that I'm ready to start populating with fish, was at the LFS yesterday and saw a baby One Spot Foxface, from my research I see they are quite peaceful, and long as they are kept fed they leave corals alone. Beyond that what are your experiences? Peaceful? Invert safe? Will they pick at clams or shrimp? Future stocking is 3-4 fairy/flasher wrasses, a true Picasso clown coming out of my 47 gallon and a yellow or kole tang. I'm going to keep the stocking fairly light.

I purshased my one spot as a juvi also about 1.5-2". It grew rapidly eating everything offered and within a year it as about 4". It was very shy and reclusive at first and never bothers any corals or fish. I'm sure feeding often helps with that. It's about 4 now and over 6". GL

I've had mine for 3 years. Purchased as a juvenile about 2" and he is now close to 7". Eats like a pig and gets along with everyone in the tank. He is inseparable from my Kole Tang and Blue Reef Chromis (go figure). Has never touched coral, and I have a mix of zoas, acans and various SPS. Great fish.

I have had mine for about 2 years. He is about six inches. He eats LRS and Mysis and ABSOLUTELY loves green and red seaweed. He also loves to pal around with my purple tang! He is also a great community fish, as he gets along with everyone large and small in the tank. Good luck!

Mine was fabulous at keeping caulerpa and other algae trimmed back to none detectable in my main tank.

I bought a tiny juvenile who grew to up to 6 inches in one year. Never bothered any corals. Was my favorite fish, but then I think he outgrew my tank (75 g). He became more skittish and was always stressed and hiding.

So here’s a general foxface question- liveaquaria says that minimum tank size on a one spot foxface is 70g and they get 8 inches max.
But then it says magnificent foxface minimum tank size is 125, and 9 inches max size.

Can anyone shed some light on what the difference between the two is that the one spot is okay in a 70g?

See above. I don't think one spots belong in tracks 75 gallon or below. I had a one spot in a 75 gallon and he quickly grew to 6 inches in long year. I had to give it away after that. Became too big and was discolored and stressed all the time.

That’s what I’m curious about. Wondering why there’s a 50g difference because of one inch of max size

This is one of the few times LA is wrong. One spots need more than 70/75g.

I have one in QT right now. Will it help with green hair algae? I'm at that stage of the cycle and the CUC is trying their best to eat it all.

I have one in my 170. I originally purchased it to take care of some bubble algae which it quickly devoured, but never touched small patches of HA I had....lg turbos took care of that. As mentioned they grow large and quickly. Mine went from 2” to about 6-7 “ within three years and if it gets any larger I’ll have to re-home it.

Will the turbos eat the long patches of GHA? They are waving around like coral. Tank is new, some are saying this is normal.
