One Way Window Tinting

Hello fellow reefers! Newbie here to the site. My first post. Well anyways, so I’m sitting here in front of my tank, and just looking. And it dawns on me, BINGO!! I’ve seen people window tinting the back side of their glass boxes, but what about, ONE WAY FILM, so we can see them, but they can’t see us, and they won’t get spooked as easy! lmk what thoughts are on this, and if anyone has done it, and if did, what did you use?

Tinting wouldnt give me an accurate color of the zoas/palys I keep.

Fish do quickly learn your looks and know "hey that dude is the one feeding me"

If you spend at least 20mins each night sitting in front of the tank the fish will accept you as a non threat and will start to watch you watching them.

It does take awhile but shoot for 20mins face2face with your fish 4-5 times a week.

I actually prefer watching my fish over being told what I'm NOT doing by my Spouse or hearing a 45min monologue from her with 2mins of content

Only sudden movements will mostly spook the fish or how you look, just kidding.

You want to observe your tank daily especially at feeding times which is your best opportunity to spot anything that may be out of place or unusual in your tank.
Tinting will hide or blurr out anything you would typically spot with normal lighting and reduce the normal colors you see under your lighting investment

That would be slick for sides on an in-wall tank; let you see in from behind but it would be blacked out from the front.

I want my fish to see me. They get so excited! I know I only represent food but...

"One way" film reflects on the side with the most light. At night with no tank lights you would not be able to see in.

The fish would be seeing their own reflections, which could cause problems with fish that are aggressive to their own species.

And I agree that it would mute the colors in the tank.
