I’m looking for some input for online livestock purchases. My tank is pretty empty. It has 1 skunk shrimp, a black ice clown, an orchid dottyback, and 8 hermits. If anyone has any recommendations on other fish or creatures I’m open. It’s a 65gal. Also, places everyone works recommend getting them online. Thanks in advance.

Hey there!

How old is your tank? Is it a reef tank? If so, what is your goal? When it comes to fish, it sort of depends on those three main questions.

The tank has been established for about a year and a half. It is not a reef tank, and my goal is to eventually get a larger tank within a year or two. I need to do more research before doing a reef tank but I’d like to be there at some point in life. Right now I’m just looking for more fish to add.

Thanks for the reply:

Here's a decent list to start: These are all fish that we stock regularly (not on the site currently but we have them and will ship). Feel free to ask me any questions. You can visit the contact page on my website and I would be more than happy to help you out. Our goal is to make sure people choose the right fish for their tanks. https://www.thereefhotspot.com/

Be careful with tangs and when you add them but here is a good start:

Yellow mimic tang juvenille.
Sailfin tang
Scopas Tang
Blue eye kole tang (Best algae eating fish IMO)
Tomini Tang

(Probably only one Centropyge Angel unless both added at same time. In your size tank probably just one though)
Coral Beauty Angel
Rusty Angel
Flame Angel

(Only one Pomacanthus angelfish)
Juvenille Emperor Angel (Probably my favorite fish, will outgrow tank eventually)
Juv. Koran angel

Klein's butterfly
Dot Dash Butterfly
Pakistan Butterfly (love these, can't remember if I have some right now)
Yellow Coris Wrasse
Leopard wrasse (a little more sensitive but beautiful)

Diamond Goby
Goldheaded sleeper Goby
