Any suggestions on where to get base rock/live rock and inverts (preferable Mexican turbos and hermits) online? We are getting ready to set up our 220 and will need tons of rock. Our LFS is just too expensive for 100+ pounds of dry rock.

I was tipped off on here about Macro Rocks for dry rocks and put an order in for some. I could not be more happier. Originally stocked my main 140 gallon tank with live rock years ago and am now in the process of setting up some new tanks. I am going dry rock this go around for various reasons. They all came extremely well packs with very few breaks and shipping was blazing fast. Good company from my limited experience.

I ordered 45lbs from reef cleaners 3 months ago. Looks identical to the Marco I have. Nice stuff and they shipped a variety I asked for in the check out notes. Shelf, base, size, etc. plus you can get your inverts as well. Check it out.

Cheapest and best looking I could find was brs reef saver. With that much rock you for sure will get free shipping so pick up a few other things too! Reed cleaners were great to deal with for clean up crews. Comes with snails and hermits. They are pretty small to start though, like tiny compared to the hermits and snails at my lfs but they are working just as hard!

Thanks! I check them all out all appear to be from Florida and Key Largo. I happened to be in South Florida, 20 minutes from the beach and about one hour from Key Largo. I'm thinking I can just go get my own rock and not have to pay for it. It is coming from the same place isn't it? LOL. I can make it a family day and have the kids get rock for the fish tank. We actually went to Islamorada last summer and brought home 20 or so blue leg hermits. Heck, I should have brought rock home as well. I will just have to look into seeing if I can do that. But either way I may just have to buy some online anyhow.
Also I have close to 25 pounds of rock that I had to take out of my 55 gallon tank last year because it had turned black. We had found out that it was sucking all the oxygen out of the tank. They were the largest rocks that we had in there. Is it true that you can just bleach it to kill everything, cure it and use it again? Here are pictures of what they look like. What do you guys think?
