You may be surprised how good his prices are. He has a wholesale license to get the fish. He is an expert on fish disease. If I had to pay $5-10 more per fish to get his service, that is much more affordable than me setting up a QT tank or having a contaminated fish wipe out my tank.

I know you were asking about someone else, but Humblefish does treatment with meds followed by a conditioning period to make sure they are healthy, eating, and fully-recovered before he ships them out.

Next time I plan to get fish from him, I plan to get a few friends in Louisiana Reef Club to participate in a group buy to split the shipping costs.

I don't think this is how @Humblefish is going to work it. You don't have to buy the fish and ship it to him, he takes care of that for you. You email him and tell him the fish you want, he gets it and QTs/medicates it, and ships it to you when it's disease free.
 
i got 3 fish from Humble. all healthy and doing really good! service,prices were great! can’t wait to see website going....

If you were closer to me I would join in! although I basically condition all my fish at the store I work at part time. I get to closely observe the fish. before I started working there I was looking into @Humblefish
I would recommend it. The prices may be higher than normal to account for his losses, because sometimes there is no saving some fish. but then the cost of meds and time, it will probably be higher than $5-10 depending on the fish.
 
All but one of the 8 fish in my aquarium have come from LiveAquaria.com, and they are all still alive and have never gotten sick. I did quarantine them, however, but I did not pretreat them or anything like that. I would recommend using quarantine if nothing else but to teach your new arrivals to eat the food you offer them. Just my two cents.

I am fortunate to have a supplier in Chicago who sells near wholesale and Quarantines EVERYTHING he carriers for a minimum of two weeks.
He just began shipping.

Cheryl Hydra treats all her fish before she will sell them..she is the only one I know of..

So with HumbleFishAquatics, you email him what fish, what size and you PP or Zelle and he obtains, QTs and treats the fish before shipping it to you but what happens if it dies, does he order another fish and do it all over again? Do you have to pay additional if this happens?
Sounds like a great source for people unable or unwilling to do the work, is there any additional info for his business?
 
+1 to the TSM recommendations above. Been to the shop and it's a pretty impressive operation and they get in some insanely rare stuff. Gotten a few things there that can be difficult to acclimate or medicate to spare the headache.

I will always recommend doing your own QT (Not necessarily medication unless symptoms develop) just to make sure the fish is eating and acting normally before it has to compete with other fish for food or space. I recently lost most of my fish due to introducing a fish with velvet and not following my own advice.

FYI, I contacted humblefish aquatics via email but he said he wasn't ready to take any additional orders at this time and to check his website when it's up and running to order.

In terms of cost for pre-quarantined fish doubling or tippling the cost of fish, I would hope that we as hobbyists would happily pay that premium to ensure animal health and a bright future of the hobby. Maybe that means we can afford fewer fish or populate our tank more slowly given the additional cost, but in the end it seems worth it, and right for the fish. It is very sad to see what is going on with the fish industry these days with rampant diseased fish being peddled at very low cost. Nearly every fish store near me is packed with diseased fish, and it seems like most online stores are in the same boat given common suppliers. This needs to change and we need to be willing to pay to correct it. While for some, setting up a stable QT for longer term treatment is a viable option, for many it is not, or they attempt an incorrect QT setup that just ends up just stressing and killing the fish in another way.

Professionally QT'd fish needs to be the way of the future and we should demand it through our willingness to pay and support people like humblefish. Once @Humblefish business is running I will purchase exclusively from him or the like, regardless of the additional cost (and no I'm not rich - just spend a disproportionate amount of my income on this hobby :)).

We shouldn’t have to QT anything. We agree to buy said fish for said price, not said fish with parasites that probably will kill fish. QT cost money, time, and emotional toll.

I’ve lost eight fish from Liveaquaria this year. Only ORA fish have survived, save one that recently died.
