I know my tank isnt perfect and although when I measure levels they all seem normal, my tank has some issues. What I'm confused about however is why one of two very similar LPS corals is so unhappy while the other is doing great. The green one on the left of center rock is completely withdrawn now. Any idea why one would be so much less happy when I imagine they want the same enviro?

First of what what are your parameters? also Hammers and acans should not be near each other cause they are quite aggressive corals and will sting each other. Different LPS will have different care requirements (Light levels, flow, feeding) just because they are in the same LPS coral type does not mean they will require the same care.

Are you talking about the rock in the middle with 3 corals close together?
The one in the middle looks like a bubble coral which is an aggressive coral. I would guess that its stinging the unhappy one. IMO try to give a coral at least 6" of space so that nothing stings each other and it has space to grow.

Sometimes you can have ideal conditions and coral will spontaneously die. There is not always a solution.
