Opaque filter media boxes and overflow drain attachment

I'm building a DIY sump/fuge in a 20g standard tank. I'd like to run the overflow outlet through a series of compartments that could contain filter media. I also want the hose coming from the overflow to securely attach to something rather than just laying it in the sump. Finally, I want it all to be made of something non-transparent to prevent the fuge light from making unwanted algae grow.

Does anyone have a product recommendation for filter boxes and/or hose connections? I was going to just make a series of baffles with some black acrylic, but I'd prefer to buy a pre-made solution if one exists.
