My 220 has a hood with an open back and I plan to keep a few wrasses and possibly other jumpers. How is everyone closing up the back while keeping airflow? Prefer not to use a glass cover over the tank, as they get dirty fairly quickly and it is just another thing to clean. Some type of wire “fencing” equivalent over the back portion?

I cut egg crate to fit and covered it with 1/4 inch clear netting secured with zip ties.

It depends on what you want to do. Using screen material could work, but I would suggest making a screen frame, not just using screen.

The other way would require plywood sheeting and cutting holes for computer fans. Blowing air in like I did when I built my canopy.

As it sits (so far anyway) I don’t need any cooling fans with the open back canopy. Metal screening shouldn’t change airflow enough to matter and will use some form of metal or synthetic screen (have a roll of what I believe is synthetic screen sitting at home right now).

Windows screen will fix all your problems and not be a eye sore for sure!

I just keep it simple, cut a piece of acrylic to fit over... easy to remove and replace and cheap..

I have an acrylic/mesh cover for my tank from Artfully Acrylic. They cost a bit but are very well made. I paid to ship mine to Australia and are very happy with the investment. I am planning a second tank and will do the same for that.
