I just picked up three beautiful open brain coral pieces, I was wondering if I could place them relatively close together to make a nice display as I have done with some of my torches, hammers, and frogspawns. Will they sting each other if placed next to each other, or do I just need some distance between non-brain coral pieces?

If you are referring to trachyphyllia. I have several touching. But do remember they will about double in size.

Most open brain corals, regardless of species are fine close to each other as their sweeper tentacles are close to their mouths and do not stretch far.

Wow Staten Island, I just got rid of my 2 beautiful brains. There were right next to each other with no issues.
I traded because my angels wouldn't leave them alone. Got some shrooms but they are tiny... Meh..

Thanks guys, they are Wellsophyllia which from my understanding are associated with the genus Trachyphyllia radiata.

Actually Wellsophyllia no longer exists, except in trade conversation. It has been re-named trachyphyllia radiata. The radiata remained was Wellsophyllia radiata. The original is the trachyphyllia geoffroyi, which still exists. They look very similar but skeleton shape is the sure difference between to two.

Thank you Tab, I appreciate the information.
