I clipped this torch off the plug and it looks like exposed hard skeleton . Do I need to put glue on it to avoid any issues or can it remain like this

Looks like that probably where they fragged it off the main colony.

100% a-okay to leave it, no worries mate. That's dead coral skeleton.

The only part you need to worry about is where the tissue is.

Thanks my man ! Glad it’ll be good.

will it be good to grow on a ledge / cliff for future heads ? It’s currently splitting

Looks like a branching torch, So just make sure you've glued it down nicely, otherwise after time as it branches out the weight may break the bond and send it to the sandbed.

Once that happens it can get injured and then BJD can set in, and then, and then and then.

But basically, anywhere in your tank should be fine provided it has "moderate" flow (you don't want the tentacles being whipped around) and moderate light.

From the photos flow looks okay, maybe on the high side BARELY but I wouldn't fuss about it too much unless you feel the torch isn't opening up fully. But really hard to tell flow from a photo LOL xD

It has been about this height for a week but I had to make it unhappy by cutting it and moving it. It was fully extended right before those pics when it was on the plug.
Im only concerned about the popping off with weight. It won’t move if I push on it, seems solid

I just wanted to make sure it doesn’t need a flat around surface to branch
