Dear @revhtree ,

firstly, yet again many thanks for such a great forum!

I would like to make a suggestion, How about a monthly MVP award to a member that helps others the most?

Of course we all help each other for the love of our hobby, but sometimes, there are a few people that go beyond the call of duty and do something that helps others tremendously. Rightly or wrongly, we probably expect you and your great moderators to help many, but this month, I would like to nominate a joint award to @Sabellafella for bringing everyone's attention to the possible use of Fluconazole for treating bryopsis, and @NCreefguy for being brave enough in trying it first, documenting his success and promoting this treatment.

I was one of the silent sufferers, along with countless others, and they have not only helped rid our tanks of the unsightly algae, but also helped us love our tanks even more.

but as R2R pioneers, I truly think they deserve a shout out.

PS. If others feel that someone else deserves an MVP award, give them a shout out and say why please.

Thank you very much Rob. I am sooooo happy that this treatment turned out to be a success. It will never get old seeing people post about finally being Bryopsis free after struggling for so long. Like I've said in the thread, unless you've had Bryopsis or know someone who has,it's hard to explain what all the excitement is about. I keep thinking about all of the people that quit reefing through the years because they just couldn't deal with this terrible, invasive algae anymore. Hopefully as time goes by,more and more people will hear about this treatment and realize that there is a solution to this problem now. Along with Bryopsis,Fluconazole also seems to be taking out some forms of GHA which is definitely an added bonus.More testing is still needed to figure out the best steps/ways to utilize this treatment but we'll get there. For now though, all of time wasted pulling, scraping, tugging and tearing down tanks can be spent just enjoying our tanks more. :)

Thanks a billion! First off i want to say, you guys and gals have no idea how happy and honored i am that this treatment is working for everyone. Bryopsis really tears apart peoples motivation in this hobby, often causing them to leave theyre tank behind and i dont blame them. Even if you take every precaution in qt, best water quality, best practices, and it still has potential to sneak in. Everyone could spend months, building their setups, spending alot of money, alot of time and effort, to suddenly be riddled with bryopsis. Ive been there myself, ive actually took one of my favorite tanks to date- down, then overall failed and quite the hobby for quite sometime. This hobby has been going on for 40+ years, and there was never a promise for bryopsis other then a complete redo, and NOONE should have to go through the stress of this. The credit is due to everyone who made this happen, to the whole reef2reef team, to every single member. Because without information, trial and error, and this wonderfull forum @revhtree built, we would never be able to share this to the world. Hopefully this info will continue to grow, and keep everyone awarding to there amazing saltwater reeftanks!

Those 2 definitely deserve it!!! Helped me save my tank and countless others

If it wasn't for this thread I'd still be pulling it, wasting big money on treatments that not only cause other issues but take a long time to not win the battle. I agree, they should get your Excellence award! Well done guys!!!!
