Hello all! So I happend to buy my first two scollies! Super excited about it but gotta get some growth back. Plan off attack is feed 3 times a week between reef roids, a Los pellet from my lfs, and mysis . Think its possible? And should I use sechems reef dip to help out with possible algae growth on skeleton? Going to treat my plate as well in the picture the same way and see what happens.

Hello - how long you have it, what livestock do you have might be picking at it? I would also check parameters.

I have had the war paint since 2/11 and the bleeding apple today. Six line wrasse, clown fish, 2 tangs, hermit crabs, shrimp and snails are inside the tank. I should and will check parameters tonight but all my other corals are doing well so dont think that it's that but could get a good baseline!

When I bought them they were recorded. I feel like the warpaint fattened up since 2 11. Here's a photo from first day!

Should I back down the like? I have the viparspectra 165w. Blues are 68 and whites are 20. Maybe 3 and a half feet from light?

Na I think your fine. You could always move them closer to an overhang to limit the direct exposure or move them to the outer edge of the light. but if they're fat and eating let them be right where they are.

That doesn't sound too bad for light. I don't keep scolies, yet, but my V1 Reefbreeders are a similar light that I run at full intensity.

I used to take them out to feed them. I used a tubberware container. I'd pull the couple i had and sit them in the container and use the LPS pellets and put a few in each of their mouths. When they were done I'd put them back in the tank. This way I didnt have to worry about theirs, or current pulling the food away.

I just dont want to pull em out and rather just net over them.

Anyone's thoughts on the pellets? And should I used a tooth brush to clean off the skeleton from algae?
Mine didn’t react well to reef frenzy pellets. @motortrendz knows his stuff though, so if he does pellets, then some must be ok.

I wouldn’t do they toothbrush thing, they look fairly mad. Maybe others will have different opinions.
