Does having a designer name or similar on a coral influence whether or not you would buy it?

I am curious as to what you all vote for your opinion on designer/named corals. Feel free to post a longer opinion in the comments

I buy what I think will look good in my tank. I do have to admit with the zoa it does help to have a name so I k ow what I'm looking for if observing another's tank.

I feel like the main deciding factor for me when picking out corals is how they would look in my tank, but if I see a name brand/designer coral at a really good price I would be inclined to buy it just for that reason. In general, name brand is a plus and I like knowing what I have, but not the sole thing that decides whether or not I get it.

I just like how things look. I have gotten sucked in a few times, and gotten stuff like a jawbreaker and a space invader, but it happens few & far between.

I agree. It's nice to know be able to know what's what and what people have, even if it's not the most important thing

I try and only buy aquacultured corals. I feel Ora provides a wide selection. As such, the majority of my corals are Ora and to a small extent Biota.

So you care more about them being aquacultured rather than designer, correct?

Yes. I don’t want to take anything out of the ocean if I don’t have to. Granted, something was originally taken out to get the aquacultured products available now, but hopefully it was done in a sustainable humane way.
