So I posted this in my thread in the nano section. Wanted the experts opinions. Keep in mind I'm old and old school so I'm from the age of more rock the better. It's not what I envisioned but I do like it. However I don't love it. I wanted two islands with one slightly taller. It done have some neat holes and peaks. You guys can beat me up lol

I actually like this scape a lot. Just be sure you can get between the rock and the glass to clean, if you want to be able to do that.

That said, my opinion is just that.. Mine. Figure out what you like and do that..

It looks okay, but it does look pretty symmetrical. More so I'd be more concerned about the height being very similar. What kind of corals do you plan on keeping? If you put corals of different heights that grow at different speeds it might be okay. You mention you're not happy, its just rock, why not try again now before you start stocking it?

Thank you I can get all around it.

There is slightly more height on the left. I'm going to play with it tonight as I have more rock as well. It's going to be 85 percent soft.

Took out both rocks on the right and replaced with one large rock and angled it for a swim through. Plus breaks up the height. Nothing fancy. Thoughts...

My vote is for version 2, I like the height difference and it gives you space for a tall coral if that's what you want.

Thank you guys. Either way you guys think it's respectable? I think the setup should grow soft corals.
Either way is definitely respectable. V1 had more space for corals and rock dwelling creatures which I liked. V2 is less symmetrical which a lot of people seem to like as well.

I liked version 1 as well! But both look great.

I like #2 the best, but #3 is still nicer then #1 imo. Try and picture the corals you want to put in, and how they will grow in the coming months / years. The reality is once you start stocking the aquascape is going to look drastically different when it's filled with corals and almost all tanks end up looking better then when they were just rocks.

Agreed. Long term coral growth will change with you have today but for the base you have three good options in my opinion
