Opinions: Fuge Replacing Skimmer

I'm curious to know what everyone's thoughts/experiences are with using a fuge to replace a skimmer.

I was thinking of shutting down my skimmer as I don't think it really does much. I have converted my 10g sump into a fuge and shutting down the skimmer would create a lot more real estate in the sump.

Its a good experiment yes.

I opted for a large fuge , and a small tunze skimmer. (Lol. small, rated for the tank.)

i yanked my skimmer and put in s simple fudge. Parameters are as good as they've ever been.
