It doesn't look bad? what is the problem?

This is AFTER a complete drain .

I had a crash a little over a month ago. I lost all fish , and all coral except for what you see in that pic. Bubble algae was EVERYWHERE, and Turf algae covered EVERYTHING

Tore it down tonight

scrubbed everything down, cleaned rock , rinsed the heck out of the rock, and rescaped. That is all of the water I had on hand , so more is being made now

Looks good to me. Put in a solid method for nutrient export and try again, I'd suggest running a huge blob of chaeto in your fuge/sump.

I vote change, new tank so new scape! It will be refreshing to have something different.

It does look fine. But I love making new scapes. So I would change it up :-)

How about a single large island in the middle hiding most of the overflow? It might actually allow more swimming room.

Hiding the overflow is always a great idea. But I think that one island will give you less real estate. Especially if you intend on any shelving corals

I like the two islands you got going on. If you want to mix it up, maybe make a thin bridge between them to place some frags?

That can go either way. If you like aquascaping like me, now is the perfect time to do it. With nothing to kill, you can't go wrong.

Turf algae is the devil! I restarted about a year and a half ago with all new rock. I kept my corals in a QT during transfer. The corals were completely cleaned, scrubbed, etc. I even covered a bunch of the exposed rock on the corals with superglue. Despite my best efforts, I've again been overrun with the stuff. I'd recommend bleaching/acid treating your rocks before starting over. Also, drain and dry the tank and all equipment. Ditch the sand. Good luck!
The scape looks fine BTW.
