Maybe it's just coincidence, but i never have shipments on time with Fed Ex?

Paid for priority overnight shipping to arrive by 10:30AM. It's 4pm and the package has been on delivery truck, 5-10 minutes away in the town next door, since 2pm. No option to hold at facility when i called this morning. In the past, both UPS and Fed Ex has given me the driver's cell phone number, or they have called me, and i have just met them on their route. No inconvenience to any one. Fed Ex won't do that today. I have never had a driver feel bothered by it in anyway. They've always been just as concerned about the critters as me. It's thousands in coral and fish. I said i would give them a $1000.00 right now to let me go meet driver or the driver come to my house now... He is literally 10 minutes away. I got nothing from Fed Ex supervisor. Pretty frustrating.

With this weather, might as well have seller file a shipping claim. It's free shipping if FedEx miss their mark. Hell might as well file the insurance now.

Just depends on your area. Mine never arrive past 10:30 am on delivery day. UPS never past noon.

It's really all about your area and where you end up on the route.

I've lived across the US and it really does vary. Same experience with other companies as well.

Where I am in currently however, they are never on time with my live early delivers. I don't like using them. Post office is most reliable, as they come around 11am every day.

Yea loads of storms right now. In my case they have only ever been a bit late twice out of countless times.

I wasn't so upset about it getting delayed to Seattle (within my state). Sure weather happens. But my state has beautiful weather today and no more traffic than normal.

What upset me was that I was not allowed to have the shipment held for pick up before it going on the delivery vehicle.

What upset me even more was that once the package was on the delivery truck--and i had already explained to a supervisor with Fed Ex it was live animals being shipped and that tracking showed them only 10 minutes from my house--they would not do anything. Nothing...

They would not let me meet the delivery driver. They would not have the delivery made a priority (maybe a ten minute detour off the drivers route at most...).

Instead, they took almost three hours for the delivery vehicle to deliver the package to my house (five miles away...) from when/where he left to deliver it to me--literally 10 minutes from my house at most....

I offered $1000 just to let me go meet the delivery driver. Nope. I said let me make that offer to the driver. Nope.

The kicker is that I am no stranger to Fed Ex. I literally am one of the attorneys they hire for their employees (they get loads of free legal work from the company via the union). Can't tell you how many times i've done them favors when they have legal issues.... But now when it came time for me to get a favor--i got nothing but bureaucratic BS from them...

Probably won't use vendors that use Fed Ex anymore and probably won't handle any cases for them anymore...

Weird mabey its just my area but fedex is always on time when I order from fragbox. Ive had ups deliver a package from another site that was 3 days late and DOA(winter in canada).

Liability.
I am literally one of their attorneys. I have also met delivery drivers in route with live fish or corals--including with Fed Ex--at least six times in the past.... They just would not do it today and it ticks me off.

I read the title and nothing else before responding, sorry.

I loathe FedEx in my area. I’ve had damaged shipments more than undamaged. I’ve recorded deliveries of mine and my neighbors and watched (after the fact) as delivery persons just throw packages from the sidewalk to the porch (6-10feet away). I’ve had large shipments tumbled to my door. As in tip the box over on one side and push. And repeat tumbling until the sidewalk in the front of the house. Couldn’t even tumble it to the steps. For live stock I’ve had boxes delivered with no door bell press and no signature request. This means voided “live arrival guarantees” for most vendors.

Terrible. Just terrible.

Fed Ex is 10x better than UPS in my area... the UPS distribution center is like a black hole and it can take days to get something to my home from the distribution center. The last package I had shipped via UPS came to town and for some reason was then shipped clear back across the county back to its origin and then back to my city 3 days later... guess it just depends on where you are.
As far as having something held for me to pickup, I've never had any luck requesting this on the same day as delivery (Fed Ex or UPS), have to request that the day before or have the vendor put that on the delivery instruction when the ship it.

Just got another delayed from FedEx. Weather is beautiful here so I am not sure why there was a delay.

Idk about UPS but FedEx will hire ANYONE off the street to sort boxes at the airport. Literally anyone with a pulse who will work at night. I had an old friend tell me he knew of ppl there that turned boxes upside down and stuff if it said live critters on it.

Then you probably understand more than most why not.

There is no liability. What does your statement even mean? I feel non-attorneys blame things like this on "liability" all of the time and have no idea what can create "liability". Liability for what? Drivers come to your house all the time. There is no difference in meeting a driver somewhere else. There is no liability whatsoever. Especially since they hire me and spend thousands on representing their employees in litigation.

Why they won't do it, on the other hand, is because it would cause a change in schedule, albeit ten minutes, and be slightly more work. It might through off another delivery (on NON LIVING ANIMALS). And they'd probably have to spend five minute notating what they did and why. God forbid. It's just lazy and terrible customer service quite frankly
