Curious if anyone has had experience with this product?

I have a source that is pretty reasonably priced but I wanted to see what you guys thought...

Thanks!

I switched from Red Sea Pro because the price hikes they had and have not had any problems thus far. The salt mixes well and actually makes 225 gallons at 1.025, not like many other manufacturers who advertise a 175 gallon bucket and it only makes 150 or so @ 1.025. (Cheap marketing tactic!)

Only negative....It "burns" your skin when you get the salt on you! Wear gloves or use a good scoop and problem solved!

I use it and like it. It mixes pretty well and my corals are growing great. I have never been irritated by the salt touching my skin.

I switched from Salinity to Red Sea Pro. I got better parameters and less slime in the mixing bucket so I am happier with the Red Sea Pro.

I have been using salinity for somewhere between 2 and 3 years. No complaints here. Mixes well, parameters are consistent, and as stated before it makes 220g at 1.025 not lower like some other brands. I have noticed with this salt and the brightwells salt it can burn a bit but usually only if my hands are wet.

I've been using it for 2 years plus same here mixes well, and you get what it states 225 gallons at actually closer to 1.0255

Thank You!

Thanks for the info!

I have my first bucket on the way!

IMHO probably the most overlooked and underrated salt in the hobby. I've been using it since it was launch some 3-years ago and really like it. As others mentioned, it mixes to the the exact gallonage on the label at 1.025, not like others at 1.022 or similar.

I buy mine in the 55-gallon drum, so price point is really nice. Mixes in hours and always consistent parameters from batch to batch.

FWIW.....some struggle with the salt at first b/c they are used to mixing a day or sometimes day before their WC. But SeaChem actually wants you to mix it and use it within 24-hrs of use. Also they recommend not heating the water, it mixes better at 72-76 degrees. Some get all bunged up over mixing salt a little differently then they are used to and throw the salt to the curb. I little adjustment in the way you mix the salt and you'll love using it.

Dont want to hijack here but...I have no lfs near me to order..anyone know where I can call and have it shipped..would prefer a website so I can check and order their online stock of other items I need to stock up on..make an order then call them and ask to throw a 55 bucket in with my order.

No hijack at all! That's a really good question.

I thought I had some on the way, but the company I purchased it from online hadn't updated their site and actually no longer sell it, so I was back to the drawing board.

I was disappointed with how much effort it took to finally have Seachem direct me to a vendor near me.

I guess they expect the salt to sell itself.

I ended up going with Red Sea Coral Pro for now....

But if you find a place to buy it, let me know!

Also, and my primary frustration with the Aquavitro people was that the "Dealer Locator" on the Aquavitro site wasn't working properly and even if I put in a 1000 mile radius it would show no dealers? All I wanted was for them to give me some contact info and it was like pulling teeth. Literally 4 or 5 emails. I finally just gave up...

I finally came to realize that the Seachem site Dealer Locator worked and was able to find some dealers relatively close that could order it, but no one that stocked it...

I just checked the Aquavitro site and the Dealer Locator now works... and they never sent me a thank you for the heads up.... meh

I used it & seemed ok, water was mixing cloudy which put me off so switched back to existing salt.

FYI ~

Found it at rescue pet supply.... free shipping if you order before 11/5

have used 20+ buckets of salinity and 5 buckets of red sea... neither are that great. esv beats both easily. its a pita to get tho.

Scratch that. Their website is out of date too... back to having a distributor order it if you want it...

I've been hearing really good things about ESV though....

I thought that salinity was only sold through LFSs not mail order. I used it for a few months and didn't like how it mixed. A few guys in my club are using it and seem to be having success. I ended up switching to ESV which I found much easier to mix as long as you have a scale. I was very happy with it. I recently jumped up to a 315 gallon tank and in the interest of saving some money during cycling started with IO. I thought that I would eventually go back to ESV but so far IO is working fine at half the price.
